A Daughter’s Words, Short Film

Zambia

Self-initiated, Reel Studios

I wrote, directed, shot and graded this short film, and it marks a deliberate step into narrative filmmaking for me. After years of commercials and music videos, I wanted to slow everything down and let one face carry the frame. The story is a single, uninterrupted confrontation between a daughter and her father, built around the idea that a parent can be present in every way except the one that matters. I shaped the visual language around silence, stillness and small physical beats, so the weight of the performance does the work rather than the cutting. I also took it through post at Reel Studios, handling the grade, sound design and finish. It is a personal piece, inspired by a story shared with me, and one I am proud to have made with a small, trusted crew.
